Is there a time limit on finishing the race? Yes - it is very important that you understand the cut-off times and your options. Please read the Competitor Information Pack for full detailed information and also see the FAQ below .....
What happens if I fall behind the cut-off times, or just can't finish? The cut-off points are at each feed station. The marshal there will call the back-up vehicle to transport you back to the start/finish.
What is the cut-off time for the 100k? The cut-off time for the 100k is calculated on an average moving pace of 15 minutes per mile. If you reach the halfway point after the cut-off time, you must stop at this point; you will still receive a finishers medal as you will have completed the 50k - a great option to have as a back-up! However, if you decide to continue and fall behind on the 2nd lap, you must stay at the feed station and the Marshal will call the back-up vehicle. Please remember that if you choose to continue past the 50k mark and then fall behind the cut-off, you will be classed as DNF and will not receive the coveted RRUM medal!
What pace do I need to do to stay inside the cut-off time? Cut off times for the 100k are based upon an average moving pace of 15 minute miling – if you feel this is likely to be beyond your current fitness levels, please opt for the 50k instead.
What is the cut-off time for the 50k? 50k runners must finish within the cut-off for the 100k finish time (22:00). This gives novice runners more than plenty of time to get round (you start at 8am)
